The Streaming Platform is Producing a Far Cry TV Show from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The newest Far Cry title that gamers experienced was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is famous for delighting in action and mayhem with similar glee, all while telling captivating, socially charged stories. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two creators whose projects have embodied all of those elements.

About the Series

Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game series, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' structure by having a new location and ensemble in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are working together for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also appear in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly generous, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX team constantly supports me with their constant belief and support.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology program. Each game is a take of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a premise,” noted Hawley. “To create a big action show that can evolve from season to season, while always exploring the essence of society through this complex and chaotic lens, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to work with Rob and introduce our common unconventional, ambitious approach to the television.”

A release window for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
