Slot Maintains He Feels Safe and Has The Club's Support After PSV Eindhoven Humiliation

The Liverpool head coach conceded that it was expected for doubts to be asked about his future following a further convincing loss versus PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool endured their 9th loss in 12 games, representing the team's poorest run since being relegated in 1953-54.

“I feel secure, I'm fine, I have got significant support from the top,” Slot stated.

“It's important to change things and earn three points naturally but if you are working as a coach and struggling then it is normal that people question you.”

He added, “I am OK with my situation. It is not the first time I've found myself in a challenging situation but it is about time that we turned it around.”

Upon being questioned to elaborate on his dialogues with the club's leadership, the head coach revealed:

“We communicate frequently. They are helpful for the squad and to me and those talks happen but they aren't calling me constantly each day to say they back me.”

He added, “During our regular discussions I perceive the trust. But I've not talked to them since this match yet so let’s see.”

Persistent Failings and Squad Response

Slot lamented recurring shortcomings from his team in their Champions League defeat, specifically poor finishing and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, player Curtis Jones was blunter in his evaluation of the current crisis.

“I don’t have the solutions. Honestly, I do not. I’m saying that to all,” the midfielder remarked.

“It’s just unacceptable. I don't need to wait to reflect. I'm beyond getting mad inside. I've reached the stage now where I simply lack the words.”

He continued, “It's difficult because I play for the team I support. I support them, and I've watched Liverpool for years.”
