But we know its essence. It’s the player attempting a move so outrageous it’s beyond belief. It’s the excitement of Ben Stokes at his peak, an expression conveying: focused titan, beard made of wood, untamed style, so authentically Modern Savage you almost imagine to glance over and find him positioned at mid-off bare-chested holding a fish.

It’s Ben Duckett often seen to talk in press conferences, resembling a cheerful animal smartly dressed, uttering phrases such as we’re breaking down traditions. Indeed, the energy, for a significant period, was uplifting.

3. Expansion Period

Or rather, the sport in England is closed, a circle, a garden party, an insular community with a long history of tradition and mystery defining it. And guess what, Britain is itself a cult, a system of unknown levels, a place that literally still has a king.

The players have been sealed up within this world since childhood. Seeking change, to create a less brutal environment, they are just repeating their own experience, forming a new circle, a limited community, however with a modern squad and a coach encouraging individuality as long as yourself is quite a lot like myself.
