Red Bull Announces Significant 2026 Driver Line-Up: Hadjar Steps Up, 18-Year-Old Lindblad Gets Grand Prix Debut.

The Red Bull team has revealed significant changes for the 2026 F1 campaign, elevating Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its A-team and awarding 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his first F1 drive.

Lindblad, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, is set to become the partner of Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the second team Racing Bulls.

This driver musical chairs sees Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid following a five-year stint.

The New British Hope

Lindblad has been tagged as a potential future star by Red Bull since he was 12 years old.

Talking about the team's junior academy, a key advisor noted last year that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", highlighting his "pure speed".

The team prepared a programme for some time to ready Lindblad for his potential F1 debut in 2026, featuring runs in F1 practice sessions at the British and Mexican races.

Lindblad stated it was a "dream come true", commenting: "2026 will be a massive test, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm ready to collaborate with the team and step up. I can't wait to get started."

He has won two races in F2 so far this season and is sixth in the championship ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

The Frenchman's Chance

The Frenchman's debut season started on a low note when he crashed on the formation lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. But, from that point, he has emerged as one of the most impressive rookies this season.

He included an outstanding podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits 10th in the drivers' standings.

A senior team figure commented: "Isack has displayed great maturity and demonstrated to be a quick learner. Most importantly, he has the innate pace that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can excel alongside Max."

The promoted driver called it "an awesome move" and said he felt "ready".

Tsunoda's Exit

To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have preferred Lawson instead of Tsunoda.

The New Zealander began the season with the main team but was demoted early in the year. He has found his form at Racing Bulls with notable results, convincing Red Bull he deserves more time.

Tsunoda, in contrast, has been ejected after a disappointing season. His highest finish is a P6, and he has accumulated a minor percentage of the team's points total.

These announcements mean that there remains no place on the Red Bull programme for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 next season.
